In every single state and territory in Australia, governments lock up kids as young as 10 years old.

Kids have to be 13 years old to have a Facebook account, but they can be locked up in harmful, abusive prisons at 10 years old.

We all saw the horrors of #DonDale.

We've seen horrific kinds of abuses & torture exposed in youth prisons around Australia.

Gassing, spithoods, solitary confinement, hogtying & sedating, strip searching, using dogs, denying food & medicine, guards sexual harassing.

No child belongs in prison.

Dujuan Hoosan, a Arrernte/Garrwa youngfella, only 12 years old, went to the United Nations last year and told the world he wants Australia to "stop cruelling 10 year olds in prison"

He wants governments to #RaisetheAge from 10 to 14.

Australia is so far behind the rest of the world, it's so embarrassing. The median age of criminal responsibility around the world is 14.

This map says it all really.

It's our kids who are most criminalised & targeted. About 70% of 10-13 year olds in prison are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids.

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Legal Services have represented kids charged with stealing a chocolate frog or bread.

Instead of connection to community, culture, care - governments are locking our young kids up and throwing away their future. When imprisoned at 10, research shows kids will most likely end up in prison as an adult.
