The great @m_lapinski recently tweeted about cathartic movie theater experiences. Now let me tell you about Mikey and myself. (Thread coming)

We once saw a Martin Scorsese film with a full Italian dinner in our laps and I dropped a chicken parm on the floor. (Think I ate it)
We once saw another Martin Scorse film and we had a talking ALF doll with us (that he’s given me as a gift) and every dramatic moment He would pull the string and piss off a good solid 200 people.
We once saw Johnny English in London with two sixes of Newcastle and I think we got tossed. (Is that real?) I firmly remember the sound of bottles rolling on cement, way before Michael Scott did it.
We once fell asleep at two Kurosawa screenings in two weeks. (We fell asleep at Film Forum weekly for 6 years.)
We once, no about ten times, never made it to a movie at Union Square because we had too much fun upstairs at the legendary Cedar Tavern.
But we have James Coburn slapping Roger Ebert, David Lean movies after pounds of pasta, The American Astronaut...some of the great movie experiences and memories of my life are drenched in @m_lapinski. It’s why I love the guy.
