QRT Thread for Bang organisers + Potential participants. Bang organisers have their own preferences, needs and capabilities, as do writers. Not every writer is right for every bang, nor can every bang please everyone. Pick projects that suit your needs w/o putting mods down. 1/5 https://twitter.com/asideoftrashpl1/status/1283888853204348928
Though this thread does put a big emphasis on validation, there's no doubt that for some writers, it really is that important. I'm not saying writing for "other people" or "stats" is right, but it is understandably disheartening to get little traction on a 50k+ fic. 2/5
It is unrealistic in some instances to support staggered multichaptered posting for bangs, but it's also not always impossible. I am interested in boosting participant saisfaction and have seen many first timer's motivations flag when they realise how posting works. 3/5
Modding events/projects can take alot of time, and often bangs cannot support multi-tiering or the chaotic scheduling of staggered releases so that bang works don't flood a tag. 4/5
Do your research before entering events. If the bang is in the early stages (interest checks, etc), offering polite suggestions would be possible. But otherwise, sometimes it's better to just accept an event is not good for you and move on. 5/5
