I've been active in CA dem politics for over a decade, the names Steve Schmidt, Mike Madrid and Nicole Wallace were known to me long before any of you guys. The Lincoln Project is not a GOP rehab project. Those who want to rebuild a party stay on and fight in the shadows like....
Dubya is. These Lincoln guys aren't exactly in the shadows. Schmidt has openly stated he wants the GOP burnt to the ground on both twitter and live TV, Wallace has left it and Madrid isn't going back either. It feels like some can't adapt to the reality of a new coalition that..
Includes ppl we once considered rivals in the not too distant past. That's politics. Alliances and coalitions shift, especially when we've got a president like Trump who's just so awful and with such an average Joe candidate (pun intended) like Biden. There have been schisms in..
both parties based on their coalitions in the aughts and early 10s. A lot of conservatives and even more center right types have left the GOP less than a decade after standing proudly beside ppl who have become hacks. OTOH the old netroots sputtered and coughed in so many....
Directions some point during the Obama years cresting in Bernie announcing in 2015. Many netrooters moved on to the point where the new leftists are calling them "establishment". OTOH the center left saw an opportunity in suburbia and so far has maximized it to win. The Lincoln..

So right that the far left is finally coming around and claiming "we can play in suburbia too". All of this is why it annoys me to see some on this bird app attack the Lincoln Project as a GOP rehabilitation project. I've spoken to ex-GOP voters on the door and on the phone....
Mostly in CA but in other states too, they're not going back. Many of em find it weird that they're even voting for dems but they don't want to go back to a party which frustrated them since at least Dubya's 2nd term and outright alienated them under Trump. For them there's no...
Party to return too, especially one where everything Trump stood for got legitimized while so many they once looked up to looked the other way. Many have found a new home in the democrats center left wing and have broken bread with ppl who they would have been against in 2014...
This is the start of a new coalition of what I call the coalition of patriots ready to restore and fulfill Americas promise. This coalition shouldn't be slept on and it will change America down the line, we're just getting started and we won't stop til we see a better America.
