1: “We need gender-segregated universities for our sons and daughters.”

2: “Are you kidding? That’s such a dream, such a reach idea. That’s step number 30.”

This defeatist mentality when it comes to building basic Muslim necessities is disgusting.
Imagine if our parents and grandparents who moved to the West thought like this.

“We need a masaajid in every major city.”

“Oh that’s such a reach, keep dreaming.”

SubhanAllah, you can really tell where our priorities are these days...chasing the dough.
It’s really not that hard to establish gender segregated universities.

In the 1960’s there were almost 300 fully accredited, active, women’s only universities. There are currently 34 active.

We need to create that demand within our communities instead of attempting to—
—assimilate everything, including our deen, in the name of “Modernism.”

There’s nothing “modern” about women and men going to the same university, it makes zero difference.

You need professors, a facility, and money. These are all not difficult to come-by.
Create the initial demand, get men and women on-board, keep these programs constantly funded.
The other option is to go back to our countries. Many of us from the 2nd and 3rd gen immigrant families have already acquired the skills needed help develop our communities back home.

Open your OB/GYN clinic or engineering firm back home if you’re in it for “helping people.”
The fact of the matter is, studying at a Western uni that isn’t gender segregated cannot remain a “necessity” for 3-5 generations.

We need to take command.

No one is saying build a 9 million square foot campus. Start small. Start with a language institute, then add subjects.
I don’t see it as a “necessity” to go learn anything on campus besides labs.

I’m doing a political science degree right now. There’s absolutely no reason why I can’t do this entire degree online. Same degree, same university, makes no difference if it’s online or in-person.
