SO I was at a family gathering and well since it was a birthday party, we were eating cake an all- I overheard one of the kids saying to her mom “I’m only gonna eat a little bit of cake so that I don’t get fat” keep in mind she’s like 5-6 years old..
And I’m sure that she didn’t come up with that, kids don’t know what being fat means unless that idea is well- implemented into their heads by someone. It was just really sad to see kids and girls at this EXTREMELY YOUNG age worry about being ‘fat’-
worry about weight and generally just body standards placed by society. she’s FIVE for fucks sake, she should be eating candy, playing with toys, running around, she shouldn’t even know what the word fat means
parents (and people) comment on body and weight and then they wonder why kids have issues with their body image, insecurities, eating disorders..
SORRY to rant so much but PLEASE NEVER comment on someone’s body or weight, don’t say they’re fat, don’t say they’re skinny, don’t share unrealistic body standards, don’t shame anyone and just let everyone FUCKIN BE. What someone looks like is literally none of ur fuckin business
Have a nice day & be kind :)
PS: I wrote this all in the car and it’s a freakin mess but yeah I was just putting all the thoughts I had into this thread
