I would challenge the assertion that older buildings from the 50s, 60s, 70s aren't "historically charming" or have as much historical value to #ualberta campus as the obvious Edwardian or Beaux-Arts style buildings. #yegheritage

The inability to move past "red brick" bias in thinking about historic value is precisely why we have huge gaps in our heritage. It means we lose entire periods, styles, and movements in design simply because they don't conform to rigid standards or interpretation of value.

Obviously, the red brick Edwardians and Beaux-Arts buildings are important, but I would argue that the built form of #ualberta campus from the 50s, 60s, 70s is much more definitive of the story of the institution, architecture, our city, and province.
