chanterelle mushrooms: chanterelles are amongst the world's most popular mushrooms. the word chanterelle comes from the greek word kantharos, which means cup, a reference to the mushroom's shape. these beautiful mushrooms have a pleasant fruity smell, similar to apricots.
fly agaric: this is the mushroom super mario's mushroom was based upon, and for good reason! it has hallucinogenic properties which can distort the way we perceive sizes of objects around us. the effects of this mushroom have also featured in alice's adventure in wonderland.
morels: delicate and elusive, morels are a gourmet delicacy and are one of the most expensive mushrooms. they're grown in the wild and are known as kashmiri/himalayan gucchi in india.
oyster mushrooms: these are famous in east asian cuisines like chinese, japanese, and korean. they've got a plethora of health benefits and make for a great addition in a vegetarian/vegan diet.
maitake mushrooms: also known as hen of the woods. maitake means the dancing mushroom in japanese. the mushroom is said to have gotten its name due to people dancing in joy upon finding this mushroom. it is known for it's incredible healing properties.
