Concerning is carrying the weight of enraging here - at least for me.

Just utterly disgusted. Keep driving in that stake that there is ZERO point in engaging and there is ABSOLUTELY NO HOPE of change within the system.

Building NEW nursing homes. FFS.

Not me. I never did. I am on record here saying "the after" will be more of same outside of MAJOR change. Why I knew that is bc - points to entire history of capitalism.
Also the 're-imagining' work has already been done by racialized, disabled, poor ppl https://twitter.com/GERONursing/status/1283840868860915712?s=20
The only way you can believe the pandemic was going to bring about greater equity is if you believe all the oppression we face is an oopsie from lack of 'awareness.'

You literally have to believe it's a bug not a feature. Otherwise you know that's complete nonsense.
It's one of the reasons I've lost patience for the purveyors of incrementalism and the consultants who get paid to tell people I'm human.

Up your game or get tf out of the way. There are lives at stake. And this is not the time for your 'may I politely request a tiny crumb' bs
Apparently an inclusion consultant didn't like my tweet about me not liking the word inclusion.

I am not responsible for your guilty conscience. https://twitter.com/mssinenomine/status/1283469130151063552?s=20
Make it accessible or burn it down. I guess I should have added - and don't build it. Would have thought that was obvious but nope.

No nursing home is accessible. If you think it is it's because you've got a narrow definition of the word.
The presence of nursing homes is an indictment on our society and evidence of its inaccessibility.

An accessible society does not have nursing homes. Period.
The people saying the pandemic is a time for 're-imagining' are the people with their hands out looking to be paid and maybe that wouldn't be so bad if they weren't the same ones who were paid to build 'the before' and they are just stamping 'pandemic approved' on same old ideas.
Only late stage capitalism could come up with: The lesson of COVID is to build more nursing homes.
