Today’s timeline has been pretty toxic with clout-chase-gate exploding, and I lost it a little. The army fandom has to learn to handle these things better. I’m sick of our association with toxicity and rabid fan girls, because that’s exactly what we’re portraying to the world.
The sad thing is, while I believe every single reaction came from a good place of genuine support for the boys, that’s what is so toxic about it. It’s a reaction. It’s something that is done with little thought.
Irony is that all the boys have ever advocated for was love and generosity. And for armies to REACT with so much rage is slowly changing that narrative and someday, I fear that they’d have to deal with the hypocrisy, which will be by default association, theirs.
We need to arrest the toxic army narrative. All we have to do to ‘do better’ is to just stop and think for just 3 seconds before we hit that send/tweet/post button. It’s that simple.
Respond, don’t react. Don’t be driven by hate and anger. There’s too much of that already in the world. Get on the boy’s level. The very group of people which you claim to love and support. Haven’t you learnt anything from them?
Be silent with your words but loud with your achievements. Don’t jump into every fight, because why get dirty and hurt over trash? Army are the role model fandom, and we should really set new and higher standards for other fandoms to follow. #rantover
