Went back and watched Cam Newton's rookie season and holy shit this run is amazing.
First career touchdown and it's on a zipline
Smith Sr can't get two feet in bounds but the accuracy on this is miraculous.
Few quarterbacks from this generation as good throwing into tight windows.
Love how quickly he's able to generate 40 yards worth of arm power inside the pocket.
One of the most iconic throws of his career
End zone angle of said play
Casually heaving a jump pass 55+ yards down the field
Randy Johnson fastball
Somehow escapes pressure, Steve Smith does the rest.
Faces edge pressure, stays poised and fires a sideline seed anyway.
Soft velocity, touchdown.
Firing this into a transparent wall...
HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THE ANTICIPATION ON THIS THROW
^This throw is significant because it gave Steve Smith the sixth 1,000 yd season of his career.
His red zone touch was so good in Carolina. Crazy that he was already making these throws without much of a problem in his rookie season.
Deep Ball Demigod
Again, holy shit.....
Throwing this into a mouse hole in a condensing pocket (sounds like the title of a Panic at the Disco song)
What Cam thread would be complete without a long run
Clearly this was one of the best rookie seasons ever, certainly one of my favorite now that I've gotten the chance to look at it. Could tell Newton was gonna be a special player in this league for many years.
