Hospitals were ordered to cut the CDC out of the loop and begin sending COVID infection and morbidity data, ICU capacity, etc, to HHS instead -- where that information can be directly controlled by Trump Administration political operatives and NOT scientists.

The media reports a no-bid contract was awarded to Teletracking Technologies Inc to manage the HHS data. Run by Michael Zamagias, a republican businessman and campaign donor who made his fortune in real estate and oil and gas development.

The CDC data portal used by subscriber hospitals to report their COVID data has been shut down so that even if they wanted to report it voluntarily, they can't. That happened yesterday, according to hospital data managers that I've talked to personally
