Hello teacher friends, who may have a little "free" time right now to engage in electoral politics!

Are you, like me, very concerned about rising fascism and realize that voting out the neo-nazis & boot-lickers in November is something concrete we can do? A 🧵of ideas for you!
(Note: I view electoral politics not as a love story, but a chess game. I don't have to be infatuated with a candidate to know that electing a more progressive candidate will bring a greater good for a greater number and allow for us to press for more progressive causes.)
1. Want to flip the Senate? Of course you do, for lots of reasons, not least of which because 2 left-ish Supreme Court justices will retire very, very soon. Choose a Senate race to work on. Your own, or, if you're like me, are in a "blue" state, a vulnerable seat.
I've been working with Jaime Harrison's campaign, challenging Lindsay Graham, and the experience has been nothing but a joy. I've given what money I can, and been part of text banks and will be making phone calls in the fall. https://jaimeharrison.com/
Sara Gideon is challenging perenially concerned Susan Collins of Maine. We need Susan OUT. https://saragideon.com/
I had heartbroken when Charles Booker didn't win the Democratic Senate primary in Kentucky, but I think we can agree that Mitch McConnell needs to go. Amy McGrath has a chance to bet him. https://amymcgrath.com/
Trump sycophants John Cornyn and Cory Gardner will be vulnerable, so keep an eye on who their Democratic challengers will be.
2. How about you write some postcards to voters? I've been doing this for a few years and it's very satisfying. You write about local elections, state-wide elections, encouraging folks to vote by mail. Highly recommend. https://postcardstovoters.org/
3. Live in a blue state and want to help in November in a battleground state? How about Adopt-a-State? They have trainings and phone banks: I'll be calling my adoptee, Wisconsin, later today! https://votesaveamerica.com/adopt-a-state/
4. Stacey Abrams' Fair Fight works against voter suppression in Georgia. This is a key fight in Georgia, and across the country, since the VRA was repealed. There are many ways to be involved: https://secure.fairfightaction.com/j/step/volunteer-with-fair-fight
WHAT OTHER RESOURCES YOU GOT, PEOPLE? Yes, we're in a pandemic, many of us are unemployed, ill, in crisis, anxiety-ridden and it is *still* incumbant upon us to shift power in November.

Drop your resources here and we can mutually inspire one another.
