what does architecture school do to architects that makes them such bad writers
i am 100% sincere and curious in this. what is happening
thanks for turning my question into a debate
anyway i get why people suggest "they are taught to use big words" but I find in most of my time spent editing copy from architects the #1 problem isn't "big words," it's the fact that it's wildly meandering and consists 1/3 of lists unnecessarily separated by semicolons.
big words can be a problem, depending esp. on the audience, but there's no reason architecture wouldn't need specialized words to refer to concepts that aren't in everyday discussion
