Starmer has now been in office for over three months - so let's compare his performance to Corbyn's first 100 days.

Who made the best first impression? Let's look at three metrics;

- Voting intention
- Preferred PM
- Leadership ratings

Starting with voting intention...

1/5
When Corbyn was elected, voting intention was Lab 31%, Con 38%. Three months later, nothing had changed.

Net improvement: zero

When Starmer was elected, Lab averaged 29%, with Con at 51%. A 22 point gap. Three months later, the gap was 5%.

Net improvement: 17 points

2/5
Onto preferred Prime Minister. Here, Corbyn actually fared WORSE over his first three months, going from -24 to -28.

Net improvement: 4 points - for David Cameron

Starmer by comparison, closed the gap from 24 points to just 6.

Net improvement: 18 points

3/5
Finally, approval ratings...

Corbyn's approval rating over his first three months collapsed from an unimpressive -8, to a disastrous -32

Starmer, by contrast, improved his already strong net approval rating of +19 to an impressive +25

Starmer is way ahead of Johnson on -5

4/5
In concluding, Starmers first three months contrast very favourably with Corbyn's.

So the next time someone (such as a bitter RLB supporter) claims Starmer isn't doing an effective job, politely point them to this thread.

The data is clear - Starmer is performing well.
