"We don& #39;t have time to create content all the time!"

Recognize yourself?

If you don& #39;t get any leads, you won& #39;t get any customers.

And unless you market yourself, there won& #39;t be any leads!

So why don& #39;t startups and entrepreneurs prioritize this more?

A widespread misconception about content marketing is that you always have to create new content if you want to keep the leads coming in.

You don& #39;t.

Don& #39;t get me wrong; content marketing should be an ongoing process.
But if your workload is more of a feast/famine kind of thing, you should build a marketing funnel that& #39;ll keep going when you are busy doing work elsewhere.

Here& #39;s how to set up a marketing funnel that doesn& #39;t need your constant input.
CREATING CONTENT

Social media is often seen as the best way to get new people to find you. Each tweet has the potential of finding its way to someone that never heard of you before.

But success on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn all depend on you being active constantly.
A day you don& #39;t post anything is a day with virtually no new leads.

Social media are flow platforms; a lot of content, quickly passing by, never to be seen again.

Great when you have the time, not so much when you don& #39;t.
If you know you won& #39;t be able to create content on a regular basis, choose an Evergreen Platform. This means the content you create, will work for you over the years.

Your blog, Youtube channel, and podcast are Evergreen Platforms.
It& #39;ll take longer to kick off (a blog post you write today, won& #39;t give you traffic from Google tomorrow) but it will build momentum even when you are doing something else.
When you have time to spare, write new posts targeting very specific keywords (called "Long-tail keywords") and let them rise in the search results as you are busy with clients.
THE LEAD MAGNETS

Having lead magnets is the best way to capture leads that happen to find your blog or podcast.

They live on your website without any upkeep.
Keep an eye out for specific, expensive problems that your target market has, and create new lead magnets when you can.

Each lead magnet is another way to capture leads.
YOUR MAILING LIST

You need to send content regularly to your mailing list.

But what most people miss; it can be done on autopilot as well.

After your initial welcome sequence (one email a day for 5+ days), you basically add more emails - being sent out with a week in between.
If the content is evergreen (valid today as well as next year) no one will know.

And no one will care!

If it adds value, people want it!

When you find yourself the time, add more emails to the sequence.
I know people with more than 50 emails in sequences like this - meaning they will keep sending their subscribers emails for a year without doing anything!

Depending only on social media for lead generation can be extremely stressful. You always need to produce more.
Combine it with an evergreen funnel, that& #39;ll take care of leads and prospects even when you need to do focus on other things that& #39;ll keep your business running.

Make sure you have a system in place that& #39;ll keep going even when you are out of town.
I send a weekly email to 3000+ startup founders and entrepreneurs - sharing ways to grow your audience and business.
