let’s have a conversation about why one SHOULDNT receive batok. let’s have a conversation about precolonial imagination. let’s have a conversation about appropriation of philippine indigenous groups.
it most def bothers me when i see others being encouraged to receive batok or practice ‘ancient’ philippine healing techniques, and think it’s okay. if you’re not of that particular group, DONT APPROPRIATE. THIS ISNT SOME ‘PARA SA CULTURE’ BS

have some respect.
i understand if you’re learning about philippine culture, but that doesn’t give you the green light to claim something you’re not a direct descent of

i have very strong feelings with these topics but that doesn’t stop me from having a civil and educational conversation about it
for those who are of philippine indigenous descent and sees these tweets, pls correct me. i am still learning, and there are aspects i still don’t know much about

(lmao this thread came out more aggressive than i thought pls this is out of good intent)
