my opinions on kpop bullying; a thread
i think an issue with stanning alot of underrated groups is there& #39;s a definite lack of stability compared to groups with more popularity that came from bigger companies. what i mean by this is (in light of the whole iluv situation) its alot harder for smaller companies to- (1/5)
choose group members based on who jells well together. this isn& #39;t to say bullying doesn& #39;t happen in bigger groups (ref. aoa) but when it comes to bullying past evidence suggests that lesser known groups seem to have this as a much bigger issue- (2/5)
of course; companies with more money can cover up these sort of situations a lot easier so sure there may be some difference in the figures due to that. but in my opinion it makes a lot more sense for bullying to be an issue in smaller groups- (3/5)
this is because lesser known groups come with more competitivity. if you& #39;re the least likes member of a group that sells maybe 2,000 album copies, chances are your fans are very few meaning your value and status as an idol is a lot lower than your peers- (4/5)
this is likely to spark a lot of jealousy in these smaller groups and whilst thats not an EXCUSE for bullying it is a possible cause for this near phenomenon. i have to stress that this is all my opinion based on what ive personally seen with bullying scandals amongst kpop groups
