1. Do you know why Kerala Muslims are called Moplah? The word means son in law. Kerala kings forced Hindu girls to marry Arab traders so they could create a Muslim community

2. The Arabs didn't for it. They didn't make raids into Kerala to plunder wealth or kidnap Hindu women? Yet the Samudri (Zamorin in Portuguese) ordered Hindu girls to go and live with the Arabs.

3. Do you know the kings of Kerala gave upper caste status to Syrian Christians while the vast majority of Hindus were treated as subhuman? In one instance, Christians were allowed to have a small militia, which gave them an advantage in conversions.

4. By giving Muslims and Christians such respect and undue advantages, the rulers of Kerala created a fertile ground for mass conversions.

5. I once had a meeting with the owner of Kerala Kaumudi. He belongs to an elite Ezhava family. He said sometime in late 1800s a law was passed that Ezhavas and those below them in jati hierarchy could not use a new bridge that was built in Travancore.

6. 70% of Ezhavas in that area converted to Christianity. The order was quickly rescinded. But while the majority returned to Hinduism, the top 30% refused to come back. "We have had enough," they said. These elites became backbone and brains trust of Syrian Christians.

7. I know only about Ezhavas. God knows how many Pulayas, Parayas, Arayans converted. Prof S Sadasivan writes in Social History of India that Pulayas were once numerous in Kerala, but today minuscule. He shows Syrian Christians growing directly proportional to decline of Pulayas.

8. VP Menon, civil servant who worked with Sardar Patel, wrote that the Kerala kingdoms of Travancore, Cochin and Malabar were the "seat of an orthodoxy not found in any other part of India". This orthodoxy is the reason why Muslims and Christians dominate Hindus today.
