I am disappointed by the poor selection of questions in this category. I feel that the issue of diversity reporting in the volunteer group, went poorly when merged with the issue of specific actions, and allowed the candidates to dodge the actual platform I would be voting for. https://twitter.com/unnaye/status/1283663197539532800
Having now read through each person's platform, here are my immediate impressions of the six candidates' responses to this category of questioning. (Full full disclosure, I do not know these people, nor have I read other responses.)
Kati Eggert: Dodges responsibility and accountability for Board members due to the ineffective governance structures of the OTW, but acknowledges the problem and remains realistic over what is achieveable.
Jess White: Acknowledges the problem, and is aware of the ineffective of the OTW governing structure. Focuses on collecting feedback, which is too passive and reactive, but mentions specific actions to help users curate their own content and experience.
Alex Tischer: We can't solve racism, so we shouldn't even try. It's a uniquely US problem.

Q: Do you feel that you have contributed to anti-racist organizational change?

A: [...] I almost certainly will have to answer no.

Y I K E S, guys. 😬
Zoë Tucker: Acknowledges the problem and the ineffectiveness of OTW governance. Importantly says that fannish communities should be given the tools to decide what they think is racism and be given the tools to protect themselves without having to wait for enforcement from the OTW
Tyme LaDow: I had no idea this was a problem? I was too busy doing other things? There was an open letter? What excuses can I give for not being aware of what was going on? I would listen to what people have to say, but promise no actions, because I have no idea what I am doing.
Nicole Abraham: Avoids the topic of racism to a worrying degree by encompassing it in "discrimination" instead. This move is basically All Lives Matter-ing when we are trying to discuss Black Lives Matter.
Based upon these responses alone, I am inclined to vote for Zoë, Jess, and Kati.
