So when we wonder how ridiculous and dangerous ideologies get so far with organisations, charities, the government; when we ask 'who could subscribe to that', know it has happened before and history has shown that with effort it can be pushed back.
When we look agog at male rapists being placed in women's prisons, or males in women's refuges etc. and think 'how, how can any sensible person support this', remember the government & officials used to allow children to visit paedophiles in secure mental hospitals in the 1990s.
An inquiry found that allowing children to visit paedophiles unsupervised on secure wards was a case of mismanagement, bullying culture, the wrong people being promoted, nihilism, a refusal to set boundaries all encouraged a dangerous environment.
