Now to give my thoughts on all the Version 8 patch notes and how they play out. I’m gonna do one tweet for each character, maybe more if it’s necessary.

I’m gonna put all three Kirby characters here, since none of their buffs meant that much. I play Dedede the most (by a large margin) and I honestly only feel the Up Air buff. I’ve barely played the other two but from what I played, nothing feels too different.
The Captain Falcon buffs are insane! Raptor Boost is SO much more fun to land (now that it lands more consistently too) and I just love using it to combo into... whatever the hell I’m feeling that day. Down Tilt feels super strong and Up Smash is legitimately scary.
Falco’s Down Tilt is kind of ridiculous now. Those new drag down Fair combos do so much damage and they fixed Nair and Up Smash. Falco’s really good now and honestly, I think I’m gonna play him more... who knows?

Oh, but Dair is easily my favorite buff of Falco’s.
Fun fact, they didn’t actually give Marth’s aerials bigger tipper hitboxes, they just moved the sourspot hitboxes over. It’s still easier to land, though, but I play Lucina over Marth so I don’t know how the buffs play out.

Also Down Smash is still useless...? Why this move?
Mewtwo Bair seems like it’s just so good, really. It and his Uair are super strong and Mewtwo was already a powerhouse. The tail hurtbox still exists, but from what I’ve played of Mewtwo this patch, the Teleport buffs really help. It makes Mewtwo’s disadvantage a lot better.
As well as this, Mewtwo actually has a RELIABLE COMBO THROW! ...that is if the enemy doesn’t DI out. It exists, I guess...

And why the hell did they feel the need to buff Shadow Ball...? I swear, that was already one of Mewtwo’s best moves and they decide to buff it.
Honestly, the only one of Pit’s buffs that I really feel at all is the Uair buff. I don’t play Pit, but I remember months back I would play him and have people live to super high percents off of Uair and it sucked. Now, the move actually kills!

Oh, Down Tilt‘s nice too, I guess.
What the HELL were they thinking making Aether kill at 80?! And what the HELL were they thinking nerfing... Nair. A fair trade for Ike’s better mo-

Rest in piece, Pyramid Scheme. You will be missed as one of the only true infinites in Ultimate. Diddy lost such a crazy setup at the expense of some other quality of life changes. Overall, it seems like Diddy got buffed. I haven’t played him much, though.
POV, Villager hits your Shield twice with an axe and breaks it, then chops a tree down on your head to kill you at 70. What do you do?

POV, you are any character who gets a lot off landing aerials up against Villager’s Up Tilt. What do you do?
So I saw some stupid kill confirm of Wii Fit’s... I think it’s Nair into Up Smash with Deep Breathing active? It killed at 60 and with how easy it is to get people to 60 with Deep Breathing, I now want to fight Wii Fit online even less then I already did. Thanks, dev team.
Not gonna lie, Corrin feels so much better after these buffs. Fair strings are much more consistent, Uair and the Pin Kick feel AMAZING to kill with and that Forward Smash is INSANE now. I didn’t play Corrin much before, but I may actually try Corrin out a bit more... who knows?
Oh no... ohhh no.... B-Bayonetta seems to be making her grand return... these Twitter combos don’t look good...
Why did they nerf SDI against Witch Twist? They fixed Up Tilt and buffed Heel Slide but... why?!
And why the HELL did they nerf her Final Sma—
King K. Rool’s crown actually takes Arsene Bair at 999%. I know it’s damage based, but I can’t name many safe moves that deal over 20%. And that belly can take a Warlock Punch. Oh, and what if the already-string Up Smash was even better? Or Dash Attack’s sweetspot was out longer?
I don’t care about Isabelle.
INCINEROAR BUFFS LESSGOOOO

They buffed Side B... it kills so much earlier. It feels so damn good.
They buffed Forward Throw... it’s now a reliable kill throw.
They made all of his grabs a frame faster... for such a slow character centralized around grabs, this can help a bit.
And they made Revenge reach its limit faster, while also giving it less endlag! I don’t think these buffs mean much, but this is a third patch they buffed the cat. I swear, one big mobility buff and he’s soaring to top tier.
And lastly, Piranha Plant. I haven’t tried Plant out yet, but I’ve heard that Fair feels so much faster and Up Tilt is a much better move. That Uair invincibility really helps too, though...

All I want for Plant is to fix Down B. It’s so unfair to get hit on the stem.
So, that’s it for this thread! I think overall, Captain Falcon or Falco had it best. They’re both really damn good now. My personal favorites were probably Incineroar (of course) and maybe Corrin. I’ve really been enjoying the new Corrin.
