How Spurs could mount a title push next season. [A THREAD]
Clearout

A large number of players are simply not a good fit tactically / ageing / not good enough.

Vorm - Free
Vertonghen - Free
Carter-Vickers - 5m
Foyth - 15m
Dier - 20m
Walker-Peters - 15m
Rose - 10m
Amos - 5m
Ndombele - 65m (explaination next)

Total - 135m
I opted to sell Ndombele because it is clear Jose doesn't like him as a fit, typically Jose's CM's are workhorses running up and down the pitch constantly, which Ndombele isn't. He is unbelievabley talented but clear to me it isn't going to happen between the 2.
Loan Out

I would find loan moves for Jack Clarke, Ryan Sessegnon and Troy Parrott next season, either at a Bundesliga, low end Premier League or high end Championship club.
Summer Overhaul

The squad is okay but needs major defensive surgery and support up top.

I believe we need a new CB to partner Sanchez or Tanganga.

A pair of new fullbacks to start.

An all rounder in midfield who can tackle, pass and progress.

A decent striker for backup.
For CB I'd love us to go after Dayot Upamecano. A very physical defender, comfortable on the ball and very solid.

He would be around 50m but worth it.

If he is not available I would want Kim-min Jae.
For right back I'd like Joao Cancelo. No clue why City bought him, he is too good to be warming the bench, he could come to us and be a regular starter, getting down the right wing regularly.

We could get him for 40m I think.

If he is not available I would want Youcef Atal.
For LB Alex Grimaldo would be a perfect fit, can cross well, decent defensively and has a good shot on him. He would complete our defence.

I think he would cost around 30m.

If he is not available I would keep Ryan Sessegnon to play there.
For midfield I would like to see Pierre-Emil Højbjerg. A hard worker in the midfield who would be a great fit for Jose tactically.

I think he would cost around 30m, but we have Walker-Peters who can be used to sweeten the deal.

If he is not available I'd like Denis Zakaria.
Finally, for the backup striker I'd like Arkadiusz Milik. A goalscorer who could play with Kane in a duo or on his own.

He'd cost around 35m but would be worth it.

If he is not availabile I'd like to see us target Edin Dzeko.
All in all, those signings would total 185m, maybe slightly more. On top of the 135m(ish) sold we could be looking at a net spend of around 50m. Viable, for me, even with the current financial situation.
That makes our squad look like this. (Includes new numbers I'd like to see)

Tactical setup.

With this squad we'd be free to play a wide range of tactics. Possible formations are...

4-4-2
4-3-3
4-2-3-1
4-4-2 (Diamond)
3-4-1-2

The team is also interchangeable and can change system easily in a game. Running though squad layouts.
4-4-2

A system to get more support to Kane, defensively sound with Sissoko able to cover the offensive RB, 2 hard workers in midfield to win the ball back, very good to be used on the counter attack.
4-3-3

Can be used when we are the better team and want to dominate the opponent on possession, can also be used when we need a goal.
4-2-3-1

A good option against a narrow defensive team using our pace on the wings. Can leave Kane isolated so Dele is key to this to give him more space.
A good option when we need to tighten up and see out a game, also have good options to get that goal on the counter.
A tough away day against a very big threat, can soak up the opponents pressure with more coverage on the back line if the opponents use wingers. Again, threatening on the counter.
There are other options but these are the main ones for me. All in all from what I've seen of us since the restart and since Jose took over I'm happy. We need time to get more deadly on the counter and to stop shipping silly goals but we are getting there.
We will likely get Europa League and I think this squad could easily win it, not only this we could potentially challenge for the title if we can get this team working in the right way.
