I used to hate when female friends/relatives wud ask me while chatting on phone,
"Aaj khane mein kya banaya?"

Me: (in my mind obviously) tereko kya karneka hai?
Tu apna dekh na..khaney pe toh tujhe mai bulaaoongi nahi, toh phir kyu dimaag ka dahi kar rahi hai bey?

Why are females so interested in 'what's cooking' at other people's houses?
Literally?

I feel relieved that I am now a middle-aged woman & can skip such queries with
'kya nayaa pakega ab 30 saal ke baad!?'

But I remember several years back, I wud answer those questions with, " arey jyada kuch nahi.. daal rice, 2 veggies, 1 sweet, 1 chicken fry, fish curry, a platter of salad, parathas '

An eerie silence with the caller expecting a counter question, 'tere yaha?' from me.

Instead of asking that stupid counter, I took revenge each time every time with,
'chal phir, phone rakhti hu, hamaare khane ka time ho gaya'
