Thinking about how people on probation were and are still forced to find jobs during a pandemic and mass unemployment and can be punished for not being hired .
Biggest unemployment rate since the Great Depression but yet people are still being punished for “ breaking probation” because they can’t get hired during a crisis .
Also for a example if someone has a retail theft charge they can only get non retail related jobs but for example when lock down started in the us all the retail places closed so the only options for retail theft people are being flocked to and taken so they’re screwed
Also fine payments weren’t paused even during such a mass pandemic so already suffering people are having to starve to pay their probation fines which most charges are rediculous or just some random bullshit added to just make your bill higher .
Facing jail over not being able to get employment is completly bullshit .also only loop hole to this is going to school if you’re in a certain age group so that’s just debt on top of ur fines that you can’t pay because lack of unemployment
