#xspoilers the ancient ritual of excalibur #12 is going to be to open the abyss we see in the Judgement card, isn't it? since the very first time Rictor appeared in excalibur (#3) it was kinda implied right? I could be wrong, but I think it makes sense.
#xspoilers but I'm thinking now. he opens the abyss for Apo willingly then? because we saw that he's in the "hanged card" as a follower of Apo
#xspoilers the hanged man card says "sacrifice" but "to change" and we have already seen rictor be willing to die just to get his powers back. also, at the beginning of excalibur his powers were out of control, and we still don't know --for sure-- how he got them under control.
#xspoilers the previous panel from the FCBD issue already said it but after reading some sources I have collected this extra info.

In summary, it's ppl who are unhappy and are --willingly-- doing a sacrifice/surrender in order to move forward, to improve their situation.
#xspoilers Guess this answers my previous Q. Yes, he's doing it by his own free will, he's embracing this change to improve his situation (rmr exc #3 again) and probably for a greater good too. I don't know how to feel. Worried? I already felt that. I'm like yeah this was coming
#xspoilers Ok, I also read ab the "Judgement" card from the first tweet, the one with Apocalypse looking the abyss.

In summary, you have evaluated yourself and now you know you're destined for so much, a better path. You let go your past sins and walk to a new life, a rebirth.
#xspoilers this thread is just to put my random thoughts & the info I'm gathering but the fact Apo is the one in the Judgement card takes a different meaning after reading more ab it. Has he realized he did wrong in the past and now he's in the "right path"? maybe? maybe not? 🤷
#xspoilers the twts ab the tarot card is clear: Rictor is going into all this *willingly*. Does that mean is that the right choice? Nope, Tini said it herself he has the bad tendency of not following the best ppl in his worse moments bc he thinks it's the best choice but...
#xspoilers I already said why I'm skeptical ab App being totally evil. I want to think there's more complicated stuff involved. There's still smth (as I said in my previous twts) we haven't seen, smth to fully understand why **exactly** Ric is doing this https://twitter.com/bc_leecomics/status/1284184336477061128?s=19
#xspoilers I know you want me to say "it's bc he's not with 'Star" and I agree. But we haven't seen *why* they aren't together? Is that connected to his powers being out of control? Or maybe it's not that. That's what I mean, we don't know the whole story. I can only speculate.
#xspoilers rictor has struggled w his powers since the very beginning, and we know that his powers affects his mental state and viceversa. he was in a bad state at the start of excalibur, then he was "fine" and yet he's sacrificing for a greater good/to change but what exactly?
#xspoilers I've mentioned before how he is too docile/he feels off in excalibur and that's totally on purpose as Tini implied in a interview. I've also said before how he needs validation, not only now but that's just how he is. Both things are related. https://twitter.com/bc_leecomics/status/1207809092879708161?s=19
#xspoilers apo could be persuading rictor to use his powers in a certain way or maybe he did smth to him (even perhaps w his consent bc that's how apo is, he asks u). again we still don't know how he got them under control exactly. but ric's story with his powers hasn't been easy
he has gone from hating/fearing them bc he couldn't control them, to loving them once he could, and to realize they were an important part of him. Then losing them which almost killed him, then get them back just for them to get out of control again https://twitter.com/bc_leecomics/status/1200497430451675142?s=19
#xspoilers
Ignore me. I'm just putting some things together just in case y'know. https://twitter.com/bc_leecomics/status/1287847064672456704?s=19
#xspoilers Updating this thread now that it's confirmed that's Rictor in X-factor #4 bc the tweet before this one it was me trying to give a reason why Rictor being in xf would make sense. It's the 4 chap of XoS. Lorna is there and he's in the hanged man card w her. now u see...?
