first of all, most of this fandom are people of colour. so when i'm talking about why we're pissed you need to understand this transcends over BTS and affects POC lives in general.

you need to understand that our societies, cultures, artforms, languages, religions, and economices have been continuously destroyed by white people over CENTURIES. because of how much of the world has been tormented by whites, this racism hasn't disappeared. it still exists.

to the fandom, BTS isn't just a group. they aren't just people who have helped us in the toughest of times. they are symbols of the potential POCs can reach, without the help of white-dominated markets and against institutionalized racism.

sweet night getting 108 #1s is a symbol of how much we can achieve as people of colour, how it's possible to overcome barriers of language, skin colour, and culture. your actions, in one fell swoop, discredited EVERYTHING.

your claims of writing sweet night aren't only false, they are made with the knowledge that the media will back you, because they're searching for that ONE SIGN that POCs can't succeed without white people. that white people are the driving force behind great art.

you follow up these claims by saying this is an attack on you because you are a woman, which you know isn't true, because you yourself discredited adora, who is a woman. this was easy for you to do and an easy pill for western media to swallow, because she's a POC.

the difference in your behaviour between talking about dua lipa's work and BTS' work just goes to show how deep this racism runs. and your claims that we're being racist against you are redundant.

we say "white" as an insult, because that one word is representative of how you're ignorant to your privilege. this ignorance made you say things like "BTS doesn't need protection," because as POC, BTS DO need protection. their art needs protection from people like you.

because it's easy for you to snatch what belongs to them and their amazing producers, being a white person. it's easy for you and your husband to convince the media that you did the heavy-lifting, because you know they're looking for the white behind the success.

this is why we're angry. we're not just protecting them, we're protecting every chance we've ever had and will ever have, as POC, to achieve success. we're protecting our identity, our culture, and our talent. we're protecting us.
