talking to other autistic people and realizing why they say "mild" when i can't fathom that.

i really hate spectrum talk.
like saying mild means NOTHING. here i am "communicating well" while they are struggling, but i'm also stimming hard just to talk online and they don't need to stim ever--

so what fkn spectrum?? it's utter bullshit.
everyone is so different but it doesn't mean that whatever they do/need to do makes them any less or more than another person.

there is nothing to measure, there is only figuring out how to support the person with what they need/want.

comparison prevents progress.
and i say progress as something the person is measuring FOR THEMSELVES. they want to communicate and found a way they like? LET THEM. that's their choice and they made their life better for it. still doesn't make someone who hasn't found the communication they like any different.
instead of slapping an ableist label on things, if communication is the barrier then try new things til the person picks for themselves what works.

accommodation is the key.
idk i'm done ranting. i'll prob delete this thread tomorrow. but UGH.
