Andrew Cuomo is desperate to turn his epic failure into a win. In the end Ohio and Florida will look like model states while NY will forever be the model everyone else avoided. https://twitter.com/wsyx6/status/1283064249334595585
When you visit the NY doh web page, you can’t get a graphical trend of the fatality rate. You can only get a graphical trend of testing but you can scan the web to find early graphs of daily fatalities in April.
Remember that the goal was to prevent overwheliming the medical system by slowly raising the curve over time to peak later and possibly more than once. Red bad. Blue good.
New York was the Red and Ohio looks more like the blue curve but with cases and not fatalities. The Bronx alone had more deaths than all of Ohio.
To clarify, the fatality rate in Ohio is pleateuing. It may climb if the 20 somethings get grandma and grandpa infected. We’ve been doing a decent job of protecting our vulnerable here in Ohio though. That is, not shoving covid + patients into nursing homes like Gov. Cuomo.
One last note in this thread. I share an office with a coworker. Our office is literally a closet converted to an office. With our desks and a file cabinet, we have about 5 feet by 3 feet to share. We wear masks (surgical or Cupron) whenever we’re in the office together.
I have an autoimmune disease that has been flaring so I’m on 3 immune modulater meds + prednisone.

My coworker got COVID19 (from family) and was pretty sick. Not hospitalized but out for weeks.

I never got infected.
