if any mexican person, no matter where they were born tell u that u are not allowed to use the word ‘beaner’ but they themselves have never been directly called that, have never been disrespected and discriminated against for being Mexican+

+then they have absolutely NO RIGHT to dictate how a U.S. born Mexican feels about that word. They don’t know the pain of being treated less bc of your origen. So if that word doesn’t affect them, but it does affect you, then reclaim it, use it, dont use it, do whatever u want w+

+ a word that has hurt you and your loved ones. Do what YOU want, what makes YOU feel better, what helps YOU heal bc everyone has their own experiences growing up, wherever they grew up. Nobody knows what you’ve been through. i was born in Mexico, i live in Mexico but+
