hey psst. hey you. the marshmallow test did not actually test in any meaningful way for kids& #39; actual baseline impulse control levels and instead they found that kids from food insecure backgrounds failed the test at far higher rates than food-secure kids. just a little fact
i just saw a tweet that mentioned the marshmallow test and my autism was like "hold on while i uhhhhhh infodump"
wow, this is really blowing up! if you found this tidbit helpful, maybe consider dropping me a dime on ko-fi since i& #39;m immunocompromised in college and without a job? https://ko-fi.com/jargoggle ">https://ko-fi.com/jargoggle...
jtwitter& #39;s number humor has ruined me XD
also, somethin else to remember re. the original tweet, it& #39;s only called the marshmallow test because most of the kids chose marshmallows between marshmallows and pretzels!
also also, someone linked a great source! https://twitter.com/MsMcMillan1066/status/1283800047814152192">https://twitter.com/MsMcMilla...
also ALSO also, i know the original test was actually about delayed gratification and not impulse control, i literally just forgot the words for delayed gratification ;-;
hey, i really have to mute this post <3 im really glad it& #39;s helping yall!
