There seems to be a sort of false equivalence going on in the discussion around the V.P. pick where if you prefer Warren to Harris, you’re ignoring Harris’s experience as a Black woman. That’s not what we’re saying: we acknowledge that Liz will never have lived those experiences.
However, even though Kamala has lived those experiences, we do not believe Kamala will fight as hard as Liz to reconfigure the system. Kamala may very well have firsthand insight that Liz doesn’t have: but that doesn’t always translate to fighting for those necessary changes!
To put it simply: we don’t think Kamala will antagonize the wealthy, or the corporate classes, or police unions as much as Liz will. Kamala was backed by multiple Wall Steeet executives during the primary for a reason!
But in conclusion, by no means do we mean to invalidate the systemic racism that Kamala has experienced. And some people seem to be taking it this way no matter how our points are made!
