why it won't be easy for kq to edit the thanxx music video or push back its release

a thread by a (business) management major and a working adult with experience:
disclaimer: i am still voting for inception, for reasons youll see in my rt's

im only writing this while i consider the next best solution. currently, i think it's what other atinys suggested: to add a disclaimer in front of the MV - and i've already emailed kq about this thrice
disclaimer pt.2: im not saying kq shouldnt take any actions, just pointing out that it wont be easy

i do think that spending some money to fix things would be considered as them taking responsibility, too, and that they should choose the most cost-effective and impactful option
to start, we already know that kq isnt a big company. as big as atz is, their label cant currently compare to the top4

that said, the losses they must've incurred due to the virus (ex. postponement of their world tour) must have made a bigger, more significant dent on their bank
calling back printed material to make changes would be costly, especially if theyve already shipped out several ones to different stores and locations globally

editing the MV would also cost money. i dont work for a production team, but im sure they dont come cheap
however, i do think it would be possible to edit digital copies of the promotional images

it's different from when a fan does it because thats voluntary - while professional editors still need to be paid

but its an option worth considering, and i hope kq does consider it
the same can be said about editing an MV

as someone who edits videos with complex software as a hobby, i can actually come up with suggestions on how to minimize the ca scenes - but even minor edits would still cost money

at the very least, im still rooting for a disclaimer
the things i've mentioned up until this point have been mentioned a ton of times before, but here's what i havent seen many people talk about:

the free content theyve been putting out the last few months

we need to consider that there were costs behind these too, on kq's part
on top of spending for the cb, kq spent on these

"but then why did they make the content free?"

here's where it gets a bit business technical: they needed to *retain* (keep) their audience

in this pandemic, *survival* is the number one goal for every company. companies have +
had to bet on ways to either maintain revenue, or gain enough to survive the pandemic (we don't know when things will "go back to normal")

if youve seen the news, many BIG companies have laid people off / gone bankrupt. digital & entertainment companies might be a little safer +
because people are stuck at home consuming media, but that doesnt make things cheap for companies either

kq must have had to invest in the free content, thinking theyll earn the money back later through the cb

* disclaimer pt.3: i dont know anything about kq's financial status+
but i can still make logical assumptions

it can be said that the kpop industry is over-saturated, so companies like kq need to stand out and need to keep fans engaged in order to survive under normal circumstances, let alone this pandemic

that said, a delay in the cb can mean+
a delay in earning that money back in order to breakeven (earn back the money they spent on content), and can put another dent in their financial projections

"but why care about money?"

if kq cant survive in the long run, neither atz nor staff can. they all have mouths to feed+
whether its themselves or their families.

so to summarize:
- they must have suffered a loss due to the pandemic
- even minor changes to materials cost something
- they had already invested in giving us free content in order to keep us, thinking theyll earn back that money later+
- i still think they should take responsibility by taking the most feasible actions for them: that is, maybe, to edit the images posted on social media, and to at least add a disclaimer in front of the MV

editing the MV will be more costly, let alone re-shooting certain scenes//
something i almost forgot to add: i can imagine they must have also spent for cb VCRs. theres so much more they prepared that we havent seen yet :(

i hope theyre able to take the ca out of those, but it still wont be very easy
this is already a long thread but i really like this quote and wanted to add it in, because i'd forgotten kq also has trainees which means they have teachers to pay, too 😔 https://twitter.com/dearmingki/status/1283586210850635776?s=20
additional thoughts after some more thinking:

i want to clarify that im not saying its impossible and i apologize if i came off as tho kq shouldnt make the edits

ideally circumstances would be better and theyd be able to redo the mv; i just thought there must be a reason they +
are not able to at the moment. i want to repeat myself in that i said im rooting for the disclaimer **at least** and if permitted, id really rather they edit the mv too

some suggested they replace the ca with the excess shots they took that arent in the mv and i agree. but +
we dont know what kind of shots they took, and this is coming from the me that edits videos with pc software as a hobby

maybe they dont have many excess shots because they followed a storyboard (for films) to the dot, or maybe hj wears different fits but keeps the hairstyle +
there is a pletora of possible reasons that we just arent aware of

i do wish they were able to make the edits though. and i know we dont mind waiting, even if its after they earn enough after promotions
i wrote this thread simply considering possible reasons why they are not able to at this time
since this got attention, ill leave an email template here. unfortunately i don’t remember who wrote it and i probably should have included this on the thread sooner 😔

the company i work for was backed by investors pre-pandemic, but during the pandemic, we had to lay people off because there was and still is no guarantee investors would back us up later this year

and money, wether from revenue or from investors, eventually runs out
i dont know about kq’s current investors and partnerships, but it seems logical that most if not all companies are very very wary about their spending and investing right now, much more so earlier this year when the virus first spread and when things were highly uncertain +
which is around the same time atz was supposed to go on tour and instead went on a break to prepare for the cb

so kq, like many companies in several other fields and industries right now, has to watch their spending
