Few perpetrator confessions exist. Those that do always amount to "I wasn't part of it but it was happening." With perhaps the sole exception of Hoess. None of the "escaped" Nazis ever confessed to gassings before custody. Even then the confession was merely denial of involvement

Nazis were not allowed to deny the Holocaust when in court. This was part of the established judicial "assumption." The only thing they could do is deny direct involvement, which is what they did.
