Update from the @minhealthnz

Today we have 1 new case of COVID-19 to report in managed isolation facilities in New Zealand.

It has been 76 days since the last case of COVID-19 was acquired locally from an unknown source.
One case has now recovered so our total number of active cases remains at 27 - all are in quarantine.

Our total number of confirmed cases is 1,198, which is the number we report to the World Health Organization.
Today’s case is a child of two people, both of whom have previously been reported as cases. They arrived on the 4th of July from Italy. That family is staying at the Commodore Hotel in Christchurch. We wish everyone with the infection a full and speedy recovery.
Yesterday our laboratories completed 2,899 tests, of those 726 were testing of people in managed isolation and quarantine for the routine testing on either days 3 or 12 of their stay. That brings the total number of tests completed to date to 436,233.
There is no one in New Zealand receiving hospital-level care for COVID-19.
Anyone with respiratory symptoms should call their GP or Healthline on 0800 611 116 to get advice on getting a test. A reminder that testing for COVID-19 is free in NZ.
It’s great to see 11,000 new registrations on the NZ COVID-tracer app overnight. We encourage everyone to download the app. Please note that we have streamlined the process for businesses wanting to get a QR code and we encourage all businesses to generate and display their codes
Yesterday, at 3:30 pm, a fire alarm went off at the Rydges, a managed Isolation facility. It was accidentally triggered whilst furniture was being moved.
Fire and Emergency NZ responded and all returnees were safely evacuated at an assembly point whilst also being asked to follow social distancing rules. The Health risk is considered low as all returnees were wearing masks as they do outside their rooms
There were 154 returnees staying at the Rydges and all have had negative day 3 tests. There has been no positive test at the Rydges for more than 3 weeks. Facility staff saw no evidence of bubble breaking or mingling with the public.
