You are mistaken!

समुद्रसङ्गमः was NOT Dara Shikoh's Sanskrit work.

It was a TRANSLATION of Dara Shikoh's Persian work Majma-ul-Bahrain. The translation was done by a retinue of Sanskrit writers working directly under him.

Dara had a large team of translators working under him. It was an "imperial project". He was trying to win over the support of Rajputs.

She is Ph.D. from Harvard University & her dissertation topic was Dara Shikoh.

Dara wrote in his letter to Mian Mir that he DOES NOT know the sacred language of Hindus (sanskrit) and relies on Kavindracharya and Baba Lal Das Bairagi for his Advaita knowledge

It is in समुद्रसङ्गमः that Allah is translated as "Parabrahma" and Muhammad as "Mahasiddha"

People misread दाराशुकोह-कृत​ ("written by Dara Shikoh") in समुद्रसङ्गमः.

It is written in brackets as it is absent in the manuscript.

Dara is mentioned as "author" in the same sense that Dayananda Saraswati is mentioned as "author" of English translation of Satyartha Prakash

In the beginning, समुद्रसङ्गमः says,

"Now speaks Mohammad Dara Shukoh, the one without राग​ (desire/passion/longing), शोक (grief/misery) and संदेह (suspicion)"

Then the author writes in first person.Does it mean Dara authored it? No, even this part is translation from original

This is exactly how Dara describes himself in his Persian original.

"Without sorrow (beadrang), without pain(bealam), fakir"

In-fact, the entire book समुद्रसङ्गमः from the first page is a faithful word to word translation of Dara Shikoh's Majma.

Even Babalal is credited

Faulty arguments

Babarnama (Persian original) is in प्रथम पुरुष. It reads "I am Babar' ("Man Babaram")

That DOES NOT make Babar the author. Babar could not speak Persian. He wrote the original in Turki. Translation was done AFTER his death.

प्रथम पुरुष doesn't make Dara author

In case of literal translations like Baburnama and Majma

One can find sentences like 'I am Dara Shukoh' even in English & Sanskrit translations.

That does mean Dara Shukoh is the author of English and Sanskrit translations. I am appalled that I have to explain such basic logic!

Dara Shikoh's history is well attested in primary sources.

NOT ONE, I repeat, NOT ONE source ever recorded that he learnt Sanskrit.

Please feel free to challenge me with a primary source stating Dara studied Sanskrit and prove me wrong.

Dara Shikoh praises Babalal and credits him for supervising Sanskrit translation of Majma Ul Bahrain

The primary evidence confirms Dara wasn't the author of समुद्रसङ्गमः
