DeVante Parker THREAD—

Last season, DeVante Parker had a breakout season for the books!

From Weeks 7 to 16 he was the WR2, only behind Michael Thomas.

But, there’s more to the story than just those incredible fantasy numbers...
For starters, Kenyan Drake was traded after the Week 6 game. Leaving Mark Walton to lead the team in rushing.

Mark Walton... Let that sink in.

Then, the undrafted phenomenon, Preston Williams went down with a torn ACL in Week 8. And, for the record, he was on pace for 1K yards.
So, now we’re in Week 8, Mark Walton is the teams starting running back and their rookie star is out for the season.

And, the #Dolphins have the league’s worst defense. (Yes, they were statically the worst with 494 points against.)

The stars are lining up for Parker.
And, boy oh boy did he cash in.

Like I said from Week 7 on he only finished behind, the record setting season, Michael Thomas.

Now we should note what has given me this bad feeling about Parker in 2020.
In 2019, when the #Dolphins were leading Parker only had 15 receptions for 227 yards and one touchdown.

But, when trailing he had 45 receptions for 756 yards and six touchdowns.

That is a HUGE change of pace.
The #Dolphins spent $100M more than the next biggest spender in free agency.

They upgraded their offense line with the addition of Ereck Flowers.

Then signed Jordan Howard and traded for Matt Brenda to greatly improve the running game.
But, it’s the defense that saw the complete face lift.

Additions of Ogbah, Lawson, Fenedelem, Van Noy and Byron Jones makes this defense almost unrecognizable.

Which means Parker will likely spend less time feasting in garbage time.
So, with a better running game, a better defense and a stellar young receiver playing opposite of Parker regression is bound to happen.

I hope I’m wrong, but I won’t be taking the risk. He’s my WR27 for 2020.
