controversial opinion on the fontana/lindgren/sweet night situation. i dont like her but this is how i feel about the situation [thread]
universal music posted this on their ig: “mel**** whose recent work on sweet night by V from BTS....”

she posted this on her own ig: “it was an absolute joy to have co-written this song for itaewonclass w/ V of bts, lindgren & the wonderous bighit writing team”
she didnt say that she wrote the entire song. she said she cowrote it w/ taehyung & others

her husband said this, which is getting quite a reaction: “she & i wrote, in fact, every single word in ‘Sweet Night’.

it’s very possible they wrote most of the words bc it’s fully in eng
if you look at the song credits on Spotify it says written by adora, hiss noise, fontana, lindgren & tae.

it doesnt specify who did what & tbh we only know as much as we’ve been told. everybody who participated in the song is shown here, whether they wrote 1 word or all of em
do i think lindgren/fontana wrote every single word? i wasn’t there so i have no idea

ive seen screenshots where it says tae has lyric credits, & i do think it’s safe to assume taehyung went in & edited tweaked/fixed/added/deleted words in the lyrics
it’s also known that tae composed & made the melodies for sweet night. it’s his song, his baby, his brainchild. but it’s also a collaboration w/ a team of ppl, just like most songs. ppl who worked on it will most likely wanna post abt the fact that they had a part in it.
anyway it’s fine to disagree with me, but my point is that in this specific situation, no one was claiming that it was their song & their song alone.
in situations like this i think it’s better to not spend energy sending hateful messages such as “you’re ugly, untalented, you didn’t do anything.” it doesn’t get a point across, it’s not an informed, well thought out argument. it’s unnecessary & doesn’t help the situation
you dont have to like her— im not exactly a “fan” of her either! and i really contemplated whether or not to post this. i just feel like there’s a point where the comments go too far and it crosses into bullying territory. feel free to tell me your take on it
