Each Premier League Club’s most underrated player. (2019/20)

[A Thread.]
Arsenal: Granit Xhaka. 🇨🇭

Despite his tendency to make rash tackles and poor decisions at times, Xhaka has enjoyed a resurgence under Mikel Arteta. He has been deployed in numerous positions such as in a 2 man midfield in a 3-4-3 or in a 4-2-3-1.

Not a bad player at all.
Aston Villa: Conor Hourihane. 🇮🇪

A free kick specialist, Hourihane has been a pivotal player for Villa in the midfield. He’s contributed with a solid 3 goals and 4 assists in only 15 starts this season.

Not a bad debut season in the Premier League by any means.
Bournemouth: Jefferson Lerma. 🇨🇴

The 25 year old Colombian international has featured regularly in Eddie Howe’s side and rightly so. The midfielder can defend, progress the ball and can pass.

Will be a player Bournemouth need to hold on to.
Brighton and Hove Albion: Dan Burn. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Standing at 6’5, very few would expect him to be a starting left back - let alone in the Premier League. He’s been very solid defensively and he adds an attacking outlet.

Potter’s side conceded 8 in 4 matches during his absence.
Burnley: Charlie Taylor. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The 26 year old has heavily gone under the radar this season. Playing in a back 4, Taylor has been a key figure of Burnley’s rigid and stubborn defence. He also makes a tackle and an interception a game.

A very underrated player indeed.
Chelsea: Mason Mount. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Having featured in 35 out of a possible 36 games, Mount has endured a terrific debut season. Contributing with 6 goals and 4 assists, Mount was often on the receiving end from the fans.

He’s arguably been one of our best players since the restart.
Crystal Palace: Patrick Van Aahonholt. 🇳🇱

For the past six seasons, PVA has established himself as a solid left back option. He is very sturdy defensively and has the ability to pop up with the odd goal now and again.

One of the London’s finest left backs.
Everton: Mason Holgate. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The young centre back has found his place in the Everton side under new boss Carlo Ancelotti. He brings pace and versatility to the side, being able to be slotted in at right back.

At only 23, Holgate should have much more to offer...
Leicester City: Jonny Evans. 🇯🇪

With Söyüncü gathering all the spotlight, Jonny Evans has quietly and consistently been a solid defensive force at the back for the foxes. He’s started in every game he’s played (35) and only been dribbled past 8 times.

More recognition needed.
Liverpool: Naby Keita: 🇬🇳

Despite Liverpool’s subpar performances after the restart, Keita has been one of their better players. He creates a chance a game and completes his passes at an 89% success rate.

1 goal and 3 assists in only 7 starts is at bad at all.
Manchester City: Bernardo Silva. 🇵🇹

Following a stellar 2018/19 season, Silva doesn’t gain half as much recognition this season. He brings versatility - being able to play on both wings, a centre forward role and in the midfield.

An outstanding footballer who always works hard.
Manchester United: Scott McTominay. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Not the most technical player by any means. But what McTominay lacks in ability, he certainly makes up for in heart, desire and a superb attitude and work ethic.

A very all rounded player who always gives 110% effort every match.
Newcastle United: Isaac Hayden. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

A tough and aggressive midfielder, Hayden does all of Newcastle’s dirty work. A reliable player for Steve Bruce, he ranks 1st in tackles and 2nd in passes and interception for the magpies.

A workhorse in midfield.
Norwich City: Onel Hérnandez. 🇨🇺

The Cuban international has only recently received consistent game time in Daniel Farke’s side. He’s rapid, brings physicality and has tricky footwork to go along with it.

Has gone under the radar this season.
Sheffield United: Ollie McBurnie. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Not the most prolific of goal scorers but McBurnie is a key player in Chris Wilder’s system. Him along with David McGoldrick are vital in linking up the play and his hold up play is immense.

A big reason why Sheffield are where they are.
Southampton: Moussa Djenepo. 🇲🇱

The 22 year old was snapped up in the Summer by Standard Liege. His lightning quick speed and his all around flair has been key for Hasenhüttl’s side.

At only 22, the Mali international should only improve his game even more.
Tottenham Hotspur: Giovanni Lo Celso. 🇦🇷

Having struggled to adapt to life in England at first, Lo Celso completely turned the narrative around. He’s been playing some wonderful football recently and his loan move was made permanent in January.

The best is yet to come.
Watford: Étienne Capoue. 🇫🇷

A consistent workhorse in the midfield, Capoue has cemented his place in Nigel Pearson’s side. He dishes out the dirty work and is a pivotal link between midfield and defence.

Making a tackle and 2 interceptions a game isn’t bad for a 32 year old.
West Ham: Tomas Soucek. 🇨🇿

The tall defensive midfielder was signed from Czech Republican side, Slavia Prague on a loan deal. The 25 year old has been a brute in midfield for the hammers, popping up recently with 2 big goals.

A key player in their fight to avoid relegation.
Wolverhampton Wanderers: Jonny Otto. 🇪🇸

The 26 year old Spaniard was signed from Athletico Madrid in 2018 and since then, has been a big player in Wolves’s success. He makes nearly 2 tackles and interceptions a game.

An integral player for their race for European Football.
