I am feeling so torn with online classes this upcoming semester. None of the classes I would like to take, to complete my core major requirements, are offering asynchronous schedules. I tried it during this past summer session and it was just so hard to manage.
I didn't want to participate because my boys, ages 5 and 3, can get very rowdy and loud sometimes and when other students feel uncomfortable or annoyed by the background noise, it just makes me not want to participate at all.
Teachers need to provide flexibility for presentations that have to be done, especially if they're worth for a good chunk of your grade. I can't do a live presentation because my child will come to me in the middle of a presentation and I have to tend to his needs.
A pre recorded presentation to show during class time will be just as effective -- because either way no one is seeing me in person and it's over a digital platform.
