Throw away the idea that professionalism means you can’t be vulnerable and have meaningful/real conversations with your coworkers and employers
If someone you work for/with is making you feel guilty for talking about your life/mental health/experiences they are upholding the idea that you can’t be operating as a full human while working
Also they’re probably also uncomfy about being vulnerable so normalize that shit talk about your emotions
I once had a very toxic employer irl subtweet me at a staff meeting saying “we don’t want our customers hearing about our mental health problems” ... when literally I was acting as a barista/peer support to half the customers who came in
If you have meetings with your boss and you aren’t talking about burnout/stress/your boundaries and needs to literally be a better employee just know that they need to do better as a boss
