1/4 dc comics ( @DCComics) needs to be held accountable for the lack of diversity in the writers and artists creating their comics. they have solicited 49 books for release this september. thats 32 writers and 63 artists. (not incl tec 1027 and losh 9 or cover artists)

2/4 out of those 32 writers, 4 are black men, 1 is a south asian man and 1 is an east asian woman. 2 of the black men are co-writers with white men. out of the 6 writers, only ram v is writing more than 1 book.

3/4 out of 63 artists, 2 are filipino men and 3 are east asian men. there are no black artists currently working on any monthly dc books. these numbers are unacceptable from a company that claims to promote and believe in diversity and need to be shared widely.

4/4 there are SO MANY talented bipoc that write and draw comics and the fact that they aren't being hired by perhaps the biggest name in comics publishing is reprehensible. white comics creators need to speak up and do their part to open the industry to bipoc.

EDIT: i did initially state "there are currently no black artists working for dc" which is not true as the amazingly talented and incredible @_pryce14 is still working on far sector which is easily one of dc's best books rn. @nkjemisin writes the best green lantern story ever-

and everyone should be supporting this book! it is releasing on a bimonthly basis and the next issue is expected to come out on august 4, which is why i missed it in my analysis of the september solicits. apologies for the misinformation!
