All of our Summer courses and upcoming Winter Term 1 courses are online-only. (Winter Term 2 is still TBA)

This thread clarifies the difference between "Distance Education" courses and "Web-Oriented courses". We've noticed that there's some confusion on the matter!
Distance Education courses are designed (often years ago) with much less student interaction with the instructor and other students. Most work is set up for students to "go-at-your-own-pace".
Web-oriented courses are the adaptation of more traditional courses to happen online — in this case, as a response to COVID. They may be mostly synchronous online (live video class meeting), or set up asynchronously (recordings).

This is most of our courses this year.
COVID obviously is putting a lot of unusual pressures on us and our courses this year; one result is that the distinction between Distance Ed and Web-Oriented is a bit fuzzier this year than usual. Check with instructors to learn about particular courses will be structured.
