So it might be difficult to gauge what a song means without listening to the whole album."

I've been trying to classify each song following the "Hero's journey" steps coincived by Joseph Campbell.

This is just my perception, I've not a lot of knowledge about the Hero's Journey, and I've skipped some steps that to me didn't matched with the songs

[Future Meets Past: CALLING

The dreams they had when they were kids become stronger to the point that fates brought them together to achieve that precious dream. This image, the covered bodies represents the beginning, the pre debut phase, when no one knew them.]

1. The call to adventure

I said it yesterday, "Intro: Calling" sounds so heavenly that it's like the angels were calling you. Carl Jung would refer to this "calling" as a "vocation": Inner or divine call.

Looking into Stay Gold MV, based in the "Golden Tree" tale (the Golden Tree that the King follows appeared in his dream), it looks like an inner call. Same happens with the boys who end up going to the same place: their dream of becoming Singers.

2. Supernatural aid + Mentor

Boy With Luv, based on "Singing in the Rain" movie, shows the making of a film.

About the Supernatural aid, that's ARMY who was there all the time bringing them support, protection and love, becoming @BTS_twt wings that made them fly high

3. Crossing the Threshold

This step in their journey was also the moment they had to face many challenges:
- Artist or IDOL?!

[Past Meets Present: WORLD

Their dreams from their childhood are slowly becoming true, being part of their reality, their present. This phase (the longest) represents BTS entering into the new Special World, becoming global superstars.]

4. Test, allies, enemies

5. Belly of the Whale

The fear linked to the lost of their passion, to the thought of "Why do I keep doing what I do?!"
And those are the thoughts that @BTS_twt put on Black Swan lyrics.
This step represents the Hero's transformation (death & rebirth).

6. Reward

7. Return with the Elixir

@BTS_twt have grown during this Journey, becoming more mature. Returning with this Elixir as an award: knowledge/wisdom, and becoming the LIGHT of those who they love.
