One of the most powerful social influence capabilities in modern history and they are using it to scam some Bitcoin.
Can't wait until we all have to start cryptographically signing our tweets to prevent World War III.
Not entirely sure why Twitter hasn't hit the big red "shut down everything" button yet.
This is a cataclysm.
Maybe after this is over we will all go back to blogging on our own domains and the Internet will be a better place.
Just to throw something out there.

Nothing said on this platform is verifiable right now - it's the tweets that don't mention Bitcoin that you should probably be worried about.
When Former US Presidents start tweeting out Bitcoin scams is about the time you should probably stat ripping out the fibre optic.
This is like if the Dark Lord Sauron, after crafting the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom had stepped back and proclaimed "Send me Bitcoin and I will double it and send it back to you"
In the inevitable dramatization of this day, this tweet will definitely be sent by the hackers. https://twitter.com/TwitterSupport/status/1283518038445223936
My favourite attack is basically what is happening to twitter right now but replace twitter with any app, and the tweets with arbitrary code execution.

There is nothing you, as a user, can do about it short of not using the app.

Centralization, the ultimate vulnerability.
Also looking forward to the scene in the dramatization where a Twitter employee jumps up from their desk and yells "THE TWEETS ARE COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE"
Amazing https://twitter.com/TwitterSupport/status/1283526400146837511
Remember when a bunch of organizations had warrant canaries and said "if we don't update this in time you should assume we have been compromised" followed by them not updating on time and saying "oops, just a mistake"?

That's pretty much how signed tweets would go.
"In the future, everyone will scam Bitcoin for 15 minutes"
Can you trust anything said by anybody on this platform -used for policy announcements- anymore? Nope.

Will you? Of course. This is definitely not something we will learn from. https://twitter.com/SarahJamieLewis/status/1283512922874896384
Should you have ever? Probably not, but it's always nice to have these things confirmed by watching US presidential candidates helplessly tweet out Bitcoin addresses.
The terrible takes are returning to the timeline. Twitter is healing. https://twitter.com/jbarro/status/1283511159447080961
But yeah, forget about fundamental right and freedoms for a second and instead consider that we definitely wouldn't have to worry about criminals doing crimes if the way they were profiting from the crimes was also a crime. 🤔
