#TCUTownHall Atkinson: have we considered cutting down admin positions since our upper admin is so overpaid with respect to other schools?
#TCUTownHall VB: Our upper admin isn& #39;t playing computer games. They& #39;re working! Schools have just gotten so much more complex so we need upper admin more. The higher salaries are market driven [if that& #39;s the case, why are ours paid so much more than at other schools? -Jason]
#TCUTownHall VB: I asked HR to do a study on it, and highly compensated staff receive lower merit increases than faculty. [That wasn& #39;t the question.] Athletics gets more because they get paid more. [again, Sean compared us to other schools not within TCU].
#TCUTownHall VB: I hope COVID 19 will burst this bubble and bring those [ambiguous: athletics or upper admin?] salaries back down with everyone else.
#TCUTownHall Atkinson: then why aren& #39;t we making sure our faculty salaries are competitive with our peer and aspirant institutions?
#TCUTownHall VB: we& #39;ll know we& #39;re not competitive when we don& #39;t have 20k people apply for our jobs. I can show you data that shows you the opposite of that [that being that we& #39;re not paying our faculty/staff like our peer and aspirants]
#TCUTownHall VB: They are competitive! Look around, I don& #39;t see a lot of losers on this campus! I could name maybe five [yes. this is as verbatim as i could make it]
