I just got into a whole debate with someone because I said I would NEVER intentionally become a single parent. Of course they brought up all of the single black mothers killing it as parents but THAT SHIT ISNT INTENTIONAL.

The brother was gay and brought up LGBTQ folks who want kids but doesn’t have a partner. Cool. Single parenthood can be done. My argument is at what cost? Children raised in two parent households will ALWAYS have the advantage. Think resources. Think financial stability.

Think about the burden on the single parent. Think about the long days at work then coming home to a child who NEEDS you to be present IN ALL WAYS.

If someone wants to be the “only” parent cool but no one can convince me it’s better for the child.
