We just published GPEx candidates' responses to the 5 questions we asked about youth and student issues.
Clearly the most important question here was 'What is your favourite biscuit?', so analysed the candidates' answers.

Straight to the good stuff, here's the raw data on each of the candidate's favourite biscuit.

Next we go to the all important question: what is the favourite biscuit of GPEx candidates? The results here are based on job share candidates who gave two choices contributing half a point toward each choice.

Some analysis: There's no clear winner here winner - not even close to a majority choice of biscuit. Unexpectedly good showing from the bourbon, objectively a bad biscuit, and not enough votes to the dark chocolate digestive, objectively the best biscuit.

Doing a bit of coalition building here, biscuits involving chocolate (broadly left politically I'd guess) can pull together 13 votes (for 12.5 needed).

Next, some analysis of the answers. Answers to this question had an average length of 76.56 words, with 1914 words in total dedicated to biscuits. The plot shows the word counts were pretty tight, centred around the 10-60 range but with some outliers in the 200s and 300s.

Special note for the 314 word answer from Richard Bearman (rich tea) which was the only biscuit answer which had to be cut down because it was over the word limit.
Here's the data for that one: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LPeq-EvJPOciFt270daL5PMJvGU0waszcSi5fZrgoOk/edit?usp=sharing

You'll notice a few answers which avoid the question (to put it lightly).
@VixL I googled it and flapjacks are down as biscuits in the Collins dictionary, which is wrong but I should probably defer to it so you're OK.

@GreenPeterU Jaffa cakes are a cake, and legally so, so despite the so-called debate and the size of them, you get a not-biscuit buzzer.
I respect @GreenPartyMolly's politically astute local cake, but I humbly suggest that biscuits can also be homemade in Gloucester.

@MooseAlston chose breadsticks, and despite his 10 good reasons for doing so (eg: hard to poison, which is true), I'm not really sure if it counts as a biscuit.

Finally, some shoutouts to the niche international choices of @samuelgemurray (Moomin) and @aliceahubbard (Champurrada), which were the only biscuits I've yet to eat.
