Sorry but a thread on this Max the Yes stuff. The ISP has helpfully provided a model to show what the intention of this campaign is. You will note two things. Firstly it is predicated only on SNP voters switching. Secondly, it doesn't acknowledge we > https://listvotescotland.com/
> already have an indy majority in Holyrood and polls predict a third one. Others better qualified than me have exposed why this would not work. See for example. http://scotgoespop.blogspot.com/?m=1
See also this thread which is very informative. https://twitter.com/AlbannachSaor/status/1281651774638764032?s=19
But I want also to address what is wrong with the argument itself using the ISP's own model. If you have a go at it you will see that it shows various outcomes depending on the proportion of SNP list voters who are modelled as shifting their vote to the ISP. This starts from >
5pc (which actually results in a reduction of indy supporting MSPs) all the way up to 100pc which results in 25 fewer unionists and 25 more indy supporting MSPs. What's wrong with that you might ask? Surely we want more pro indy MSPs & fewer unionists? Well, yes. But stop >
> and think about it. The *only* thing that has changed in this model is the votes redistributed from the SNP to the ISP. There has been no change to the number of votes for unionist parties. But their representation has been reduced by up to 25. I hope I do not have to >
> explain why this is wrong. This Max the Yes strategy cannot work. But if it did, it would be a democratic disgrace. Unionist voters have just as much right to fair representation as nationalists. No democratic political party or movement should try to suppress the votes of >
