I want to write out the outline for my Jinro Game AU since it's probably at the bottom of my current WIP pile and i *do* want to get a bunch of it out there even if i can't write the whole thing! I think i've talked about it/teased it enough to do that much for you all c:
All of these are in the same world as my GouKi 'Things Unseen', and take place after it! I'm writing this thread assuming people have read or at least skimmed that one.

lil warning for gore maybe?
The story would pick up with a new hunter - Haizaki. he visits his former mentor (kidou) after hearing some unsavoury rumours in town, and also just being genuinely concerned for him. as he approaches the house the air feels heavier than it ever did before.
he lets himself in, with kidou hunched over a desk and working on something he can't quite see.
"they say you're working with dark magic."
"they've been saying that for years."
"... but they've never been right before."
haizaki sits himself down opposite, and looks at what
the fortuneteller is working on. he's using a dark air, bones, dead things; and he guesses that the dead crows hanging behind him aren't just for decoration.
"i need your help," kidou says, without looking up. "you owe it to me. you owe it to *him*."
haizaki is silent. he knows
his old friend has been hit the hardest by whatever curse their town has fallen into. he knows how close he was to that travelling hunter - the one who fell protecting him. the one whose body they buried in the woods.
"i need you to take this-" his hands move back, revealing
a sphere made of bones "- and burry it near that house, with the newcomers, by the edge of the square. it started with them. i can feel it. this will prove it."
haizaki hesitates. he'd spent some time at that house. gotten close to one of its residents- a young man his own
age, bright, charming, the sun itself.
"...what is it?", he asks, not ready to commit.
"a cage. for any talk of murder." his voice rises. "why are you hesitating? did i teach you nothing? you'll let them get away with it?" haizaki can feel it, the anger, the grief. behind him
a force is heavy - he knows it, from the bloodstained cloak and shattered bow kidou kept by his door, the only remnants of his love he could bring back home.
"they took him from me. too early, too soon, before his soul would know this was a place he could come back home.
they're behind this, and i'll prove it."
haizaki stays silent, but slowly, with his stomach heavy, takes the cage.
"what happens if you're wrong?"
"i'm not."
the cage is in his hands now, and he steels himself. it's just burying an object, he tells himself. it's just to put his
mentor's heart at ease. the cage wouldn't catch anything - it couldn't, there was no way. there was no way the young man he knew could harbour any kind of dark thoughts, not when he was the sun itself.
